There will be no new students accepted in the program for Academic year 2025-2026. This program is being replaced by a Certificate of Proficiency in Transportation Construction Inspection Level II. Current students should reach out to an academic counselor to create an academic plan to complete the Short-term Certificate in Construction Materials Testing am by the end of the Summer 2027 semester or to create an academic plan to transition to the Certificate of Proficiency in Transportation Construction Inspection Level II.
This short-term certificate program provides education and training for employment as a construction materials testing technician. Students will perform basic field concrete and soil tests under the direction of engineering professionals of company technician managers. This field work is required to ensure that sampling inspection, and testing is performed consistent with project specifications. Test results are prepared for lab reports and transmitted to the proper construction personnel for review.
